Smart Waste Solutions Chooses Local Animal Rescue as Charity of the Year
At Smart Waste Solutions, we're passionate about doing the right thing – not just when it comes to waste management and environmental responsibility, but also when it comes to supporting our local community.
That's why we're delighted to announce that our nominated Charity of the Year is NCAR (North Clwyd Animal Rescue), a fantastic local charity dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming animals in need.
For us, choosing NCAR was an easy decision.
"As animal lovers, and having got our first rescue dog, Peg, from NCAR supporting them was a complete no-brainer. Darren, one of our HGV drivers also got his dogs Muttley and Roxy from them. The work they do to care for vulnerable animals and help them find loving homes is incredible. We wanted to support a local charity where we can genuinely make a difference, and NCAR ticks every box."

Meet Ruby – Our Four-Legged Office Team
Anyone who has visited our office will probably have met Ruby, the Directors' beloved dog and unofficial office mascot.
Whether she’s greeting visitors, supervising meetings, or simply ensuring everyone takes regular breaks, Ruby is a big part of life at Smart Waste Solutions.
Her presence around the office reminds us every day of the joy and companionship animals bring into our lives, making our partnership with NCAR even more meaningful.
How We'll Be Supporting NCAR
Throughout the year, the Smart Waste Solutions team will be getting involved in a variety of ways to support the charity and help raise awareness of the fantastic work they do.
Fundraising Activities
We'll be organising fundraising events throughout the year, with plenty of opportunities for our team, customers, suppliers and business partners to get involved.
From charity collections and workplace fundraising to sponsored challenges and community events, we'll be aiming to raise as much money as possible to support NCAR's vital work.
Volunteering Our Time
Our team will also be rolling up their sleeves and volunteering where we can to support the charity.
Whether that's helping at events, assisting with practical tasks, or supporting fundraising activities, we're looking forward to getting involved and making a hands-on contribution.
Supporting with Waste Management Services
As a waste management company, we're uniquely positioned to offer practical support too.
We'll be working with NCAR to identify opportunities where we can assist with waste clearance, recycling and disposal requirements, helping the charity focus more of its resources on caring for animals and less on managing waste.
Looking Ahead
This partnership is about much more than fundraising. It's about supporting a local organisation that shares our values of care, responsibility and community.
We'll be sharing updates throughout the year on our fundraising efforts, volunteering activities and all the wonderful work being carried out by the NCAR team.
